Energy Product Rebates
As part of the Take Control and Save program, Platte-Clay offers several rebate programs to promote energy efficiency.
Business Lighting Rebate Program
Platte-Clay offers a business lighting rebate program to commercial, industrial and agricultural cooperative members with more than 10 bulbs or fixtures at their existing (non-new construction) facility. The rebate amount will be determined prior to installation and calculated based on an audit of existing and replacement lighting. Total rebate amount is limited to $30,000 per member per year and in no case will exceed 40 percent of the total equipment cost. Lighting is a critical component of every business. Employees must be able to see clearly to safely perform their jobs and floor space should be aesthetically pleasing to encourage sales. Members can get significant cost savings with energy-efficient improvements. With continually improving technology, lighting tends to provide the highest return on investment of major upgrades.
Ground Source Heat Pump Rebate
New ground source installations are eligible for a rebate of $750 per ton. Replacement ground source units are eligible for $150 per ton. (Electric storage water heater is required.)
Dual Fuel Heat Pump and Ducted Mini-Split Rebate
New dual fuel heat pump installations are eligible for a rebate of $500 per ton. Replacement dual fuel units are eligible for a rebate of $300 per ton. (Minimum HSPF2 of at least 8.1 and be installed by a certified dealer. Fossil fuel backup and electric storage water heater required.)
Ductless Mini Split Heat Pump Rebate
Ductless Mini split rebates of $150 per condensing unit are available for mini split heat pumps. (unit must be Energy Star Certified with at least a 15.2 SEER 2 efficiency rating. Electric storage water heater required and be installed by a certified dealer.)
Heat Pump Water Heaters
Up to $750, not to exceed 50 percent of total cost. Available for new construction or replacement of an existing gas or electric water heater. If the new unit replaces an existing water heater, the efficiency rating of the old unit must be less than 0.9 efficiency. Limit two rebates per meter and the new unit must be Energy Star Certified.
Energy Star Certified Smart Thermostats
Up to $50, not to exceed 50 percent of total cost: Must be an ENERGY STAR rated thermostat. It can be used with any type of heating and cooling system. Limit of two per member address. For new construction, or the replacement of an existing non-ENERGY STAR thermostat.
