Youth Tour Contest

Platte-Clay participates in a national program that provides high school juniors served by rural electric cooperatives an opportunity to earn a trip to Washington, D.C. It’s easy to apply, and six finalists will represent the PCEC at leadership conferences next summer. Two students will win free trips to Washington, D.C. for the national Youth Tour, and four students will get to attend the Youth CYCLE leadership experience in Jefferson City, Mo., held during the summer.

The 2026 Youth Tour contest deadline for entries is March 6, 2026. Applying is easy! To enter, all you have to do is be a high school junior in the Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative service area and submit the entry form below. Youth Tour Contest Guidelines

1. Student Eligibility
This contest is open to any high school junior who attends school in Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative’s service area or whose parents are members of the cooperative.

2. Submissions
Submit the online application form above by the submission deadline.

3. Finalists
Six finalists will be selected by co-op judges and interviewed with a panel at the Platte-Clay office in Kearney. Two finalists will be selected to receive an all-expense-paid trip attend Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., in June. The remaining four finalists will each receive an all-expense-paid trip to Jefferson City to an award-winning leadership conference held in July.
