Platte-Clay Electric Crew Mobilizing to Assist with Hurricane Michael Recovery Efforts
Kearney, Mo — A crew of six linemen from Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative deployed from its Kearney, Missouri headquarters this morning to assist with Hurricane Michael recovery efforts in Florida. The crew is part of a coordinated effort by the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives to respond to a call for help by the Talquin Electric Cooperative of Quincy, Florida.
“We’re proud to be among the many electric cooperatives answering the call for help by our peers in Florida as they brace for a potentially devastating storm,” said Dave Deihl, CEO and General Manager of Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative. “We believe in assisting electric cooperatives in times of need just as others have done for us in the past. Our linemen are ready to go into action, and we’re proud of them for stepping up to the plate.”
The Platte-Clay crew will stage in Alabama and complete the trip to Florida once it is safe to travel. More than two dozen electric cooperatives from across the state of Missouri will send a total of 123 linemen to lend a hand with recovery efforts.
Last month, a Platte-Clay crew deployed to Kingstree, South Carolina to provide support to Santee Electric Cooperative in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence.
